Happy Fathers Day

Happy Father's Day to one whose love
Asks nothing more than that it more might give!
Praised be those whose self-love selfless proves;
Praised be those who by such pleasure live.
Years of longing find no better plight,
For everything that is, is ever here.
A love that gives, gives unalloyed delight,
Taking in more breath than it can bear.
How lovely, then, to give this day to you,
Embracing who would rather us embrace,
Rejoicing in the ballet old anew,
'Twixt give and give a shy and awkward grace!
So may you ever be on Father's Day,
Despite yourself, the hero of the play,
Accepting from your loved ones what you would
Yet give yourself to them, if you but could.

To my husband, my dad, my grandpa and uncles...and all the fathers who make my life a little better everyday!

Unfinished Projects - Life just happens sometimes

Have you ever meant to do something and kept putting it off and realized later that you been putting off this task for so long that years have passed?

Well I have one of these particular tasks which beginning this week I plan to tackle. For about six years now I have planned on putting up some pictures on picture frames and albums. But I never get around to the task of actually buying the picture frames. So today I've decided that I'm going to stop being a slacker and I'm going to tackle the task of album making and picture framing.

I am shamed to admit that two years after our wedding and I still have not made the album with our wedding pictures!!!

So this had me thinking about life in general, because if we are not looking, life passes us by so quickly and without warning...which makes us look back and say "where did the time go?" our kids grow too quickly, the gray hair comes in too quickly, the wrinkles appear, our bodies become less agile and weaker than ever before and as time passes and we begin to fall apart physically we realize all the things in life we meant to do but left aside for another day, and when this happens, it's time to make a change.

Although my body is not exactly falling apart, today is that day for me. Today I will begin my journey with pictures and I hope that everyone can look at the unfinished tasks around them and begin anew...let's finish our unfinished projects!!!!

Aim for one task, at least one...start small, choose someone you know you can finish, and then get up, roll up your sleeves and do it!
